Legibility Debt
Legibility Debt is the gap between the information a company actually has in its head and the information it has actually written down in a way that a computer can understand and use.
Legibility Debt represents the operational friction caused by the disparity between an organization's internal knowledge and the subset of that data structured for machine consumption, effectively limiting the scope of automated execution.
The structural distance between an organisation's knowledge and its machine-actionable form; the agent can only work with what has been made legible, so unaddressed Legibility Debt caps AI's usefulness and drives the Knowledge Paradox. (C4AIL, attrib. Nico Appel.)
