The Knowledge Layer

Think of this as your AI's personal library or handbook. Instead of relying on general internet knowledge, it uses this specific, organized collection of facts and rules that you own and control to ensure it stays on topic and accurate.

The Knowledge Layer is the curated repository of domain-specific data, constraints, and operational examples that ground an AI model. It acts as the primary source of truth for the system, ensuring that generated outputs remain aligned with proprietary requirements and business logic.

The structured knowledge specification an AI system operates against: curated context, domain facts, examples, and constraints (the data layer CAGE's Context and Examples feed). Architectural labour produces it; it is where proprietary substrate gets concretised. (C4AIL, Whitepaper I Part IX.)
